Punjabi actor and farmer activist Deep Sidhu died in a road accident on Tuesday while he was on his way to Bathinda from Delhi.
He was driving the vehicle, a white Scorpio, when the incident took place and was traveling with close friend Reena Rai, who survived the accident.
Born on April 2, 1984, barrister-turned-model, actor and farmer activist Deep Sidhu was 37 years old. He hailed from Muktsar Sahib district of Punjab.

He started his career as a model and bagged his first film Ramta Jogi, produced by actor Dharmendra-led Vijeta films in 2015.
Deep Sidhu appeared in eight Punjabi films.
He, however, became popular in 2018 after playing a gangster’s role in ‘Jora 10 Numbaria’ in 2018. He also appeared in the sequel of this film, which didn’t do well due to the Covid-induced lockdown.
Deep Sidhu’s involvement in farmer’s protest
Deep Sidhu shot to limelight after his English speaking videos supporting the farmers’ agitation that went viral on social media.
Deep Sidhu was accused of being the key conspirator of the violence during the Republic Day tractory rally by protesting farmers in 2021.
Police had also accused him of fueling chaos at Red Fort. He was arrested on February 92021, but was later released on bail on April 17 after remaining in police custody for 70 days.
Delhi Police in May 2021 filed a 3,000-page chargesheet against Deep Sidhu in the Red Fort violence case.

Deep Sidhu in 2019 campaigned for actor-turned-politician Sunny Deol in the general elections. Sunny Deol had, however, distanced himself from Deep Sidhu later.
Deep Sidhu was often seen openly quoting slain Khalistani leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. He was also facing a case under SC/ST act registered in October 2021 by the Jalandhar Police for hurting the sentiments of the Dalit community.
Deep Sidhu, in September 2021, had also formed an organization titled ‘Waris Punjab De’ to fight for the federal rights of the states.
