Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on the Ukraine situation after an Indian student was killed in Kharkiv shelling. This is the fourth such meeting held by the PM in the last two days.
An Indian student was killed in shelling in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region this morning, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday.
Indian student Naveen, who hailed from Haveri in Karnataka, was killed in Russian shelling in Ukraine’s Kharkiv. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Naveen’s family and offered condolences.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai spoke to Naveen’s family to express grief over Naveen’s demise in Ukraine.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday and briefed him on several issues including India’s response to the Ukraine-Russia war, according to sources.
Earlier, it was decided that four Union ministers would travel to Ukraine’s neighboring nations as India’s special envoys to coordinate the operation to evacuate Indians stuck in the war-torn region.
