According to Ukrainian officials, workers at the Zaporizhzhia plant are being held at gunpoint by Russian soldiers.
“Europeans, please wake up. Tell your politicians Russian troops are shooting at a nuclear power plant in Ukraine,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video address on Friday.
While US officials said that censors around the plant do not indicate radiation leakage, the Ukrainian Ambassador to the US said that data from the plant’s automated radiation monitoring system does not work.
