Radhe Movie Review: Salman Khan, Your Most Wanted Bhai is here on Eid

Year after year at Eid you ask the same question every year: Why should you watch a Salman Khan movie? If you ask this question and can’t find the answer, this review is not for you. If your answer to this question is “Salman Khan” then you can move on.

We all have I have seen numerous Eid publications to learn that Salman Khan films are critical, of course, and Salman himself, damage-proof. Radhe Your Most Wanted Bhai is no different. Nobody wants Salman to be different. Salman Khan’s charm lies in persistence. You can take your logic and go elsewhere; it really doesn’t matter.

So let’s start at the beginning. Randeep Hooda is Rana, a drug mob from Delhi who tries to eat on Mumbai territory. Mumbai, drugs, you know what we mean. Rana does an RJ and says good morning to Mumbai and goes on to smash skulls and break bones. There are drug-related deaths in Mumbai. Every cop on the hunt is drugged and dead. Who can pull Mumbai out of this mess?

Radhe, your most wanted bhai. The encounter specialist Bhai literally crashes on the screen and there is slow motion to help him pause his movements. So that you don’t claim that there is no logic in such a scene. But we’re going to leave logic aside as you shouldn’t have to worry about logic if you hit play on this (read: any) Salman Khan movie. Radhe pledges to clean up Mumbai, and when he does pledge, as you know, he doesn’t even listen to himself. You will get that dialogue twice in the film. You know, ICYMI in his past films. Radhe vows to decimate drug masters and pull drugs out of their misery. The future of the country is at stake. Young people fall victim to drugs. Who is a better Swachh Bharat ambassador than Bhai himself? Thank you, Jai Hind.

From here on, you know how to do it. There’s action, more action, a pretty petite Disha Patani named Dia, whose brother is Jackie Shroff. Yes, Disha Patani, Tiger Shroff’s friend – okay, okay, rumored friend – plays the sister of Tiger’s father in Radhe. Family is a complicated business.

Anyway, to simpler things. Disha plays Dia, the model who looks like a model, dances like a model and glows right off the screen. Your role is nothing more than pulling the powerful Salman Khan out of his no-kiss contract. You will see it when you see it.

Randeep Hooda puts an accent before landing in Mumbai. He has a matching menacing hairstyle and a pair of boots to help remind people where their face is. Rana and Radhe are the simple mouse and cat, respectively. No devilaap-ke-peechhe-aap-Devil-ke-peechhe-Type complexity here in Radhe. Nothing overflowed from Wanted or Kick if you’ve been waiting for a sequel.

Radhe is a remake of the South Korean film The Outlaws, but there is no story in Radhe. There is no point in writing about it. What is there is Salman flying a Jeep Wrangler and crashing a helicopter to the ground. Radhe, the encounter specialist, can kick countless thugs to a fantastic background score, romanticize Disha Patani in catchy songs, beat Randeep Hooda to a pulp and even take off his shirt – thank you, Remo D’Souza. There are also many references to Salman all over Radhe, from Galaxy to Bigg Boss. You will get them if you know Salman (otherwise, too). Seriously, did you expect more?

If you’re a Salman Khan fan, you probably weren’t. So we’ll end here. If you’re not a Salman Khan fan and wouldn’t mind two hours of pointless fun, Radhe could be a try. There is enough tragedy out there than looking for flaws in a Salman Khan film. Bad luck if you take him for granted.

No stars for Radhe. Her most wanted bhai is beyond the ratings of non-bhai fans.
