The fourth test between India and England hangs in the balance after a fascinating game day in the oval on Sunday. The hosts finished 71 without a loss and needed 291 more runs on the final day after Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns fought back for England.

India still has the upper hand in the game after Shardul Thakur and Rishabh Pant spent half centuries helping India set a 368 run goal for the hosts.

India were thrown for 466 in their second innings with 60 Shardul scored, while Pant made 50 in their seventh wicket partnership of 153 which put the visitors in the driver’s seat.

Thakur scored a crisp 60 in the second innings before being caught by Craig Overton on Joe Roots Bowling’s first slip. Pant, on the other hand, got out for 50 after reaching his half century.

Previously, opening player Rohit Sharma had scored the highest score for India with a stellar 127, while Cheteshwar Pujara (61st), Shardul Thakur (60th)
