A 40-year-old Kolkata man has been arrested for allegedly hiring a Supari hitman to murder his wife when she bought a smartphone without his “permission”.

A 40-year-old man from Kolkata was arrested for allegedly hiring one great (Hired) killer to murder his wife. Reason – she bought a smartphone without his “permission”.

The woman had to have seven stitches in her neck after the defendant allegedly injured her with sharp objects.

The incident took place late Thursday evening in Narendrapur on the southern outskirts of Kolkata. The attacker was also arrested. Police are now looking for another man recruited by the attacker.

A senior official from Narendrapur Police Station said Hindustan times“According to the woman, a few months ago she asked her husband to buy her a smartphone, which he refused. The woman, who earned some money with tutoring, bought a smartphone on January 1st. When the husband found out about this, he was furious and threatened to kill her.”

Police said the man attempted to lock the main door of the home Thursday night. However, he did not return to his room. The woman, feeling something was wrong, went looking for him and was attacked by two men.

The woman, who was bleeding profusely, managed to escape from the house and raise the alarm. Locals heard the woman’s screams and rushed to her aid. They caught one of the attackers and the husband. However, the other attacker managed to escape, Hindustan times reported.

The husband has been identified as Rajesh Jha and the hired assailant as Surajit.
