The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction got off to a cracking start on Saturday in Bengaluru as all 10 players who were part of the marquee list found buyers. Shreyas Iyer became the most expensive player among the marquee list selling for Rs 12.25 crore.
Delhi Capitals went on a bidding frenzy, trying to retain all their former players but they ended up buying only David Warner, the former SunRisers Hyderabad captain, for Rs 6.25 crore.

Only Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and SunRisers Hyderabad were the 3 teams who did not buy any players from the marquee list. While Mumbai let go off Quinton de Kock, Chennai Super Kings lost Faf du Plessis to Royal Challengers Bangalore who bought the South Africa opener for Rs 7 crore.
