Russia-Ukraine war news update: Amid rising tensions between Ukraine and Russia, India Today reported from inside a bunker to show what it’s like for people hiding there in Kyiv.

Ukraine remains in the middle of chaos ever since Russia declared war on the country. Loud air raid sirens, explosions and missile attacks by Russian troops have triggered fear among Ukraine citizens. In this situation, people have rushed to metro stations and bomb shelters to save themselves from regular attacks by Russia.
Amid rising tensions, India Today reported from inside a bunker to show what it’s like for people hiding there in Kyiv.
A bomb shelter was constructed underneath a residential house in Kyiv. As the camera panned across a room, a large bottle of drinking water was seen placed in a corner with a few glasses beside it.

There were mats and some packed food as well. In a hall across, there were planks set up one over the other for people to sleep. However, there is lack of connectivity inside the room.

The India Today reporter said there was a different smell of something burning. “It’s the smell of something burnt from the strike,” she said.
“Whenever we see signs of alarm or see information online, we go and hide into this bunker,” she said.
Explosions every 20 minutes
Explosions were heard in or on the outskirts of Ukraine every 20 minutes.
Earlier on Friday, two Russian objects were shot down in Ukraine. One fell on a private house. There was a fire which has now been put off. Another aircraft fell on a nine-storey building which was on fire for hours.
These blasts were reported before dawn in Kyiv as Western leaders scheduled at an emergency meeting and Ukraine’s president pleaded for international help.
