With three days left for the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, February 7, renewed his attack on the Samajwadi Party. He said that the Samajwadi Party was equivalent to fakery, gundaraj and misery.

“During CM Yogi’s tenure, criminals themselves have been running to jail and demanding that they be locked up. They had been waiting for this election. They are hoping that there is a change of regime so that they can come out of jail and exact revenge upon the people,” PM Modi said, in a clear reference to jailed SP leader Azam Khan.

“Fake Samajwadi’s dynasty policies stopped the river of development in UP till 2017,” he added

Addressing a rally in Bijnor virtually, PM Modi praised the Yogi Adityanath government for developing all regions of the state equally without any discrimination.

The Prime Minister was scheduled to address the Bijnor rally virtually in person. However, he could not be physically present there as his chopper could not take off due to bad weather.

He said the Yogi Adityanath government had paid over Rs 1.5 lakh crore sugarcane dues to farmers, which was more than the money paid by the previous two governments in UP.

“All they [previous governments] did was to keep quenching their own thirst and that of their close ones. They kept filling their coffers,” PM Modi said.

“We want that in the next 25 years, when the nation completes 100 years of independence, UP makes a mark with its development story. Our government is making continuous efforts to see that the businessmen, industrialists, and farmers here get all help,” he added.
