Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last in Mumbai on February 6 at the age of 92. As news of Lata Mangeshkar’s death broke, several celebrities were seen rushing to her residence to pay their last respects to the legend. Amitabh Bachchan was one of them who arrived at the home on Lata Mangeshkar’s Peddar Road with his daughter Shweta Nanda Bachchan. However, Amitabh Bachchan was absent from Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral, held at Shivaji Park in Dadar, Mumbai on Sunday night.

AMITABH BACHCHAN MISSING AT LATA MANGESHKAR’S FUNERAL

Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral was held on Sunday February 6th at Shivaji Park in Dadar Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray gathered to pay their last respects to the Indian nightingale. Several attended the funeral Bollywood personalities like Shah Rukh Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Javed Akhtar, among others. However, Amitabh Bachchan could not make it to the funeral at Shivaji Park.

A source reveals why Big B wasn’t at Shivaji Park. “Mr Bachchan offered his condolences, met Lata Mangeshkar’s family at their Peddar Road residence, spoke to Lata Didi’s family and later left the venue. He did not attend the funeral at Shivaji Park, considering Covid-19 protocols and also to protect his own health. As the funeral was held in a public place and could have drawn large crowds, Mr Bachchan decided to offer his condolences to the family at the residence instead,” the source reveals.

Almost a month after being hospitalized, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar died on February 6, 2022. She was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on January 8 after being diagnosed with Covid-19 and pneumonia. She breathed her last at the age of 92.
