Prime Ministers Narendra Modi was expected to speak at the event’s official inauguration on March 11.
Sources suggested that one of the reasons behind the postponement was the situation in Ukraine. This edition of the event was expected to be among the largest, with more than 900 exhibitors from over 55 countries.
DefExpo began in 1996 and this year it was being organized at over 1 lakh square metres. The US pavilion had booked the largest space among the nations, while Adani and the Tata Group were to have the largest stalls among the Indian participants.
Over 50 defense ministers or heads of armed forces from across the world were expected to attend the event.
